Down at A's restaurant, Thong Sala, Phangan
A long serving establishment that also has accommodation in Thong Sala, on the same small street as another popular restaurant on Phangan the Vantana. A's coffee shop is an excellent restaurant for breakfast, lunch and diner, with a classic American coffee shop atmosphere and menu to match.
Unlike most resort and hotel menus, A's is American in style with such items and Kurks lumberjacks breakfast, consisting of a couple of pancakes USA style and scrambled eggs. The Cheap Charlie will satisfy most with a generous portion of toast, eggs, bacon and sausage. The nachos with salse dip and chillie con carny is also popular as are the sandwiches.
Simular to some of the resorts theres a wide selection of wines for sale by the glass and bottle and a well stocked spirits cabinet and cocktail list. Naturally the coffee is brewed to perfection from selected beans with the usual coffee mixes on the bar list.
The restaurant is a popular choice for the long stayer on the Koh Phangan and tourist alike coming in from various resorts and hotel accommodation around the island as the coffee shop has been there for quite some time now so its well recommended. From the pier in Thong Sala head to the round-a-bout before taking the main street into town, from there turn left before Krung Thai Bank and A's Coffee shop is just on the right. The restaurant opens at nine in the morning and closes late around ten in the evening, the staff and management are very friendly, definitely worth a visit.
