Baan Khai, South East, Koh Phangan

This village and beach is the last stop before Haad Rin and is a mixture of houses, villas shops and services, main road get quite busy here. The beach of Baan Khai is long and thin and completes the path from Ban Tai beach to Had Rin Beach. At low tide it is possible to walk along the beach to Haad Rin. Some of the original teak wood houses are still here along the roadside and up into the hills where they blend with newer modern villas built for holiday use, on this growing tourist destination.

The waters are shallow here but suitable for swimming most of the time, the view stretches out over the sea towards Koh Samui. The Koh Ang Tong marine Islands can also be seen from here.

Baan Khai is also home to some of Koh Phangan's famous parties with some happening right on the beach, if your interesting check the local posters that are put up around Koh Phangan.

The road can get quite busy in times that runs parallel to the beach behind the resorts, so be careful if you chose to rent a motorbike and venture down this far from the villas. Car rental is recommended for a trip to Baan Khai and the southern tip of Koh Phangan.

After Baan Khao the road becomes very steep and winds up and down the mountains on its way to Had Rin with just a few villas dotted in the mountains along the way. Again people who have have a bike for rent should take care, car rental is a better option to continue down to road to Had Rin.
