Chaloklum divers has been in operation for fourteen years since opening in 1995, Nick and Micheal both are full PADI instructors and the team has now grown to include complete range of dive professionals. The school has gone from the days of going in longtails to dive as they now have their own big boat to take out divers to the sites and can also do dives in a pool when the sea conditions are not perfect. They often use the swimming pool at Tantawan Bungalows in Haad Yoa. With a rental car its only a five minute drive from the villas at Talaytong to the Chaloklum Divers main office in the village. On the drive from the villa look out for Lotus diving on the main road and take a left into the village beach road, chaloklum divers os located around three hundred meters down the road on the right.
The safety record at Chaloklum divers is unbroken and they are a full TAT registered, insured and licensed operation. Chaloklum divers are affiliated with the SS Re compression Network who have good facilities on the neighboring Island of Koh Samui and all the team is trained in first aid and O2 techniques and the school is a sponsor of the DAN Asia Pacific.
The students and divers who go through Chaloklum divers have learn that small groups are best for teaching and dive trips normally no more than four people either in the sea or the swimming pool. Larger groups the dive school believes takes away the fun from diving in the fantastic underwater world. Snorkel trips are available where the price includes all the usual rental snorels and flippers.
The schools boat is twenty two meters long and most of the dives are carried out from the big boat and is set up for thirty five dives when it takes a trip. Th boat also has a large kitchen, living space and shower and toilet. The vessel is fully equipped with ships radio, mobile GPS, full first aid kit and emergency oxygen supply). The boat has sun bathing space, seating and a classroom and dormitory.
The school's center is in the main road in Chaloklum and it offers a range of brand name dive and snorkel gear for purchase and they also have tank filling service center. On the west coast of Koh Phangan the school can also be found in their sub branches in Maehaad Beach and Haad Yao beach at Wang Sai Resort and at the Long Bay resort respectively both of which also have swimming pools in their resorts.
