It is difficult to see where Wogtum ends and Hingkong, a beautiful bay on the west coast of Phangan, starts. Hingkong is a growing village and is fast becoming a favourite for budget long term stays on Koh Phangan. The beach is not great for swimmming but the sunsets are a definative answer to why Koh Phangan is called Paradise Island.
Hingkong holds some breath taking sunsets even by Koh Phangan standards and photo moments when the tops of the sand bars are exposed as the tide goes down but it’s not the best beach for a day of sunbathing. Hingkong is two kilometers long and the water does not get deep untill about one kilometer offshore.
