The area of Hingkong on th e wesr coast of Koh Phangan joins with onto the village Wogtum further south and its sometimes hard to distingish where one starts and the other ends, although Hingkong village is easily idetifiable. The bay is long, wide and shallow and as such is perfect for Kite Boarding or windsurfing both of which can be obtained from the rental shop in the middle of the bay.
When the water is high it is possible to swim in the bay but sometimes the bottom can get a bit muddy and slippery. The best time to visit is when the water is completly out and is possible to walk out over a hundred meters and enjoy the view back of the west coast of Koh Phangan. Its also possible to view the locals collecting clams here, they can be found in market for sale at around twenty to fourty baht per kilo.
The kite surfing school in the bay has perfect conditions for the sport when the wind picks up, equipmnet is available for rent, the rental priceing is normally done on a per hour basis. The best place for bite to eat is angels bay, which is located just about in the middle of the bay directly on the main road that runs parrelle to the thin beach. Here they serve homemade pizzas cooked in a stone pizza oven, they also do take aways. Another small bar is JJ's who on occasion have live music with the Jam at a near by beach sala.
