The area of Haad Khom beach is a well known snorkeling destination on Koh Phangan as the offshore reefs hold an array of colorful coral and marine life. Many of the local dive schools visit the area for its close proximity to Chaloklum fishing village. The area is also a frequent stop for most of the boat day trip operators on the north coast of the Island where Haad Khom is located between Chaloklum and Bottle Beach.
The beach is good for swimming at higher tide levels during six months of the year from August to February, the rest of the year the bay is still an idealistic place to take a dip in the sea. Snorkeling masks and flippers can be found for rent in the village of chaloklum as there are several dive shops that may have a rental program available.
From Haad Khom it is possible to hike to bottle beach, care should be taken and food and drink brought along for the trek.
To get to Haad Khom drive from the villas to Chaloklum and then turn off the main road just after the Seven Eleven mini mart and climb up the hill before descending down into the bay, the road may be difficult to navigate after heavy rains or through out the year if traveling on a bike car rental is a better option is planning a trip here with a group.
