Haad Yoa or Long Beach...
Haad Yoa translates in English into Long Beach and the description is really quite perfect for this long stretch of sand up on the west coast of Koh Phangan. The beach is very close from the villas at Talaytong, and is an alternative beach to spend the day at. From the villas its around two kilometers to Had Yoa, the best way is to rent a car then its only a few minutes drive from Talaytong.
A good place to stop and admire the view is Tantawan Bungalow up in the hills, they have a fine restaurant, friendly staff and large swimming pool. There are also plenty of resorts on the beaches that have pools attached to their resorts.
Good places to eat are the Eagle Bar and Sandy Bay which do a seafood barbecue on the beach in the evenings, its always busy so get there early for a wide selection of fresh seafood just in. Alternatively, back on the main road in the Apache Bar, an American-Indian theme, they are also open for diner and they have a popular bar for some drinks after if wished for.
The water stretches out way from the sandy white beach, gradually getting greater in depth and snorkeling is possible at either end of the bay where coral reefs have formed.
