Lotus Diving, Chaloklum, Koh Phangan
The Lotus Diving dive center is located in Chaloklum in the north of Koh Phangan about ten twenty minutes from Thong Salad and is one of the island premier and long serving dive schools. The dive center is run and owned by local Koh Phangan residents with PADI qualified Instructors and Divemasters. With Instruction is available in Thai, English, French, Spanish, Dutch, and Hebrew.
The Lotus Dive center has two fully equipped dive boats with transport jeeps and also has a speed boat with GPS, marine radio and a first aid kit and are always captained by an experienced crew. The school hold conservation and respect of the environment to a high level with staff that have an thorough understanding of the dive sites and their marine life. A high priority of conservation and care to the visited reefs is always given.
The facilities include an air compressor, and resort with pool and class rooms all air conditioned, snorkel gear rental is also available. The boat cruises at a and safe speed of eleven knots per hour, reaching the dive sites in good time. The dive school gives detailed tuition on most PADI course that are international recognized, concentrating the assistance on the individual diver with class sizes remaining small at around four people per group. At Lotus there is all levels available and a beginning student may go from the class room to the pool and then to the open water.
For the children a one day course for ages 8 or 9 introduces the experience of breathing underwater. Go-diving-TODAY!! is a one day course for breathing underwater with the on site supervision of a qualified PADI professional in the swimming pool or in calm open water conditions, the program can be credited towards the scuba diver or open water diver courses. To start to Scuba Dive involves two to three day course in confined water, two open water dives at a maximum depth of twelve meters and some classroom work bit after that the certification is valid for life. The next level up is the Open Water certificate which is a course for around three to four days and includes some more knowledge as well as four open waters dives. Master scuba diver course are also available where the first steeps are taken to learn how to use enriched oxygen to allow the body to decompress better, dive master and assistant instructor courses are also available.
The Lotus dive center offers trips to Sailrock, Marine Park, Koh Toa, local dives, night dives and the Shark Search and cover all the main dive sites in the area.
