nong nook seafood, chaloklum

On the main beach road in Chaloklum fishing village is local family Nong Nook Seafood, a authentic Thai restaurant, long established in the village and a popular place to eat during the day and evening. Set on the beach side of the road, the restaurant has simple but well created decor of thai bamboo furniture, attractively light at night. There is indoor seating which expands outdoor onto a beach side terrace with views over the bay.

Popular dishes are the green curry, tom yam soup (spicy prawn soup), pad thai and fried rice dishes. being in Chaloklum means some great fresh seafood is on the menu, ask for the fish of the day. Service is fast and friendly and the price is low for a thai restaurant that predominately caters to the tourists.

The restaurant is not a five star exlusive dining experiance and it is not meant to be. Nong Nook is a simple thai eatier where the owners have put in a lot of hard work and passion to make the place feel warm, comfortable and welcoming. In high seasons they do get busy and although the practise t the art of producing quick thai food, its reccommended to get there early.

To travel to Nong Nook from the villas car rental is essential. Head out of the villas towards Chaloklum in the north and once in the village take a left at the Lotus Dive school which will be on your right, its got a large blue roof and pool outside. Then continue around to the village road that runs parelle to the sea, its best to park at the pier and walk back to Nong Nook. They are open mid day untill late, Monday to Sunday, a reccommended place to eat.
