Community on Koh Phangan

Thong Sala is the main entry port and settlement on Phangan, in the town there is a rapidly growing number of restaurants, shops and bars along with banks, postal services and travel agents with a wealth of information about Koh Phangan.

Baan Tai on the main road from Thong Sala to Haad Rin is another important Thai settlement on Koh Phangan and there are a number of good accommodation, restaurant and entertainment options.

The now famous Full Moon Party is held in Had Rin, Koh Phangan often receives over twenty thousand people for the days this party is held. Had Rin has developed into a must go, for party goers visiting in South East Asia. Had Rin has brought a lot of investment into Phangan while limiting rapid development and noise pollution to only a small part of Koh Phangan.

Chaloaklam on the north shores of Phangan has been an important fishing village and is another fast developing part area on Koh Phangan. Several new homes and shops have gone up in the last couple of years and many more are either being built or are in design. Apart from the fishing industry and scenic beach, Chaloaklam has the advantage of a comparably large area of flat land; most of the Koh Phangan is mountainous terrain.

One further settlement worth noting as future events may lead to the village Seethanu developing into an important town on the west coast of Koh Phangan. Seethanu is located in a large area of flat land which is ideal for construction. The number of restaurants and shops has been multiplying each year, this may be due to its proximity to Haad Yow, one of Koh Phangan best beaches.
