You name it, sethanu has got it, this little village is suprisingly well stocked with all the goodies one may need whilst on holiday in a Villa. There are plenty or car hire and rental shops in the village as well as many bikes available for rent.The main store and anchor of this village on koh phangan, is the bright lights of Seven Eleven, which sells an array of goods from bathroom soaps, stationary and magazines, dried food and fresh food, dairy and candy products as well as a wide selection of drinks. The great think about Seven is that its always open so you can be sure to count on it in times of need. Moterbike rental is available in the village as is jeep rental, expect to pay anywhere from one hundred and fity baht to three hundred baht per dy for bike rental and, jeep rental can be a bit more around nine hundred baht a day but as four can fit in a jeep it makes the rental quite affordable in comparision to renting a few bikes. Its also a lot safer as welll renting a jeep on koh phangan and the roads are good but there is still some sand in places and broken parts of the road but not many.
Of couse there are many more shops and services in the village, just next door to the seven eleven is a good internet cafe that also sells daily newspapers and other magazines, like villa holiday guides and the like other services include photocopy, fax and call facilities. Theres also a great deal of signs and posters like villa rental signs stuck around outside, ideal to gather information for holiday villa outings from the villas. Acrross the road is a chemist that has a wide selection of toiletary goods, first aid supplies and also medication, the store is airoconditioned which is great as the heat on phangan can get quite hot. They stock all you could need for a headache or sore through sunburn of cut and brusie.
In the same location are a couple of Thai eatiers that are modest in apperance but serve up some good honest delicous thai food thats hard to be beaten and certainly not where the price is concerned. Try the simple thai dishes like Paad Thai and Paad Kapow Kai and Tom Yum Goong, cant be beaten than at place like these, expect to pay from around 50 to 100 baht per plate, they will be able to accommodate your needs in terms of how spicy your wouldl like the dish, as normally they can get quite spicy.
Other Restuarants in the area are Felinni a smart Italian managed restuarant that set up on Koh Phangan a few years ago. At Felinni they serve a selection of dishes from homade pizza and pasta. The other Western restuarant in the Village is Peppercorn that serve up tasty steaks to order with a selection of sides, Many people who rent houses or villas near by come to seat here a popular choice on Koh Phangan.
There is an ATM in the Village in fact there is Two ATM's in the Village and by the time you may visit, there may be three ATM machines. The fast profiloration of ATM machines around Koh Phangan means the Seethanu being a village naturally has quite a few.
Fresh food products can be found in seethanu first opposite seven eleven and also in the surrounding buildings and next in the larger supppleir on the road further towards the lakeside of the village. In the large food retailer some superb vegetagles and fruits can be brought at very resonable prices. Watermellons and Pinapples are nearly always in stock as are bananas, Mangos come in season so look out.
The Village also accommodates a bakery which sells freashly baked cakes and bread, this is situated again quite colse to seven eleven towards felleni. The second bakery is run by a family that aslo have bungalow villas for rent, their shop on the cross roads near Peppercorn restuarant, this bakery is also a groccery store with everything from rice and eggs to chocolate and drinks, they make a good crossiant here as well ideal for your breakfast at the villa.
